Hell of the North :
Our 13th annual ‘Hell of the North’ will be held on Sunday, April 17th 2022. Our first Fall Edition of the event(s) held in November was a smashing success. It was quite possibly the best HOTN to date. That means we are going to work even harder to make this lucky 13th spring edition even better. Starting and ending at the Ballantrae Community Center, this epic spring classic has 90 kilometres of the most amazing dirt and off road sections that will make this truly one of the most challenging events around. It promises to test your early season fitness. As always the Hell of the North route will include rail trails, dirt roads and some of the area’s nicest climbs. Cyclocross and mountain bikes for this wave. There are sections you will have to dismount and run. Road bikes are not recommended, MTB shoes and pedals are!
Heck of the North :
Returning for it’s 9th year, we have an incredible, alternative route called the HECK. This is for anyone who wishes to be tested but doesn’t want to dismount or ride through a farmers field. The HECK of the North is a 70 kilometer route that will still include many of the amazing roads used in the Hell of the North but there are no off-road sections, farmers fields, or the nasty trench. This means you can ride a regular road bike on this beauty. There is only one hard packed gravel section. The rest of the course is 95% asphalt. Both routes are sure to test you and both promise to be an amazing day out on the bike!
